During a Legislative Branch Reform Discussion in Sacramento, Democratic California State Treasurer Bill Lockyer railed against the undue influence of public employee unions on proposed legislation. Lockyer called out Democratic legislators for being beholden to employee unions and their unwillingness to address pension form. In his impassioned speech, Lockyer admitted what engaged voters already know, that a majority of legislators are controlled by public employee unions and that they will never willingly address public pension reform.
This is why we need to take the pension reform issue into our own hands and solve the problem that bought and paid for politicians wont touch. Measure D is how we can accomplish this.
